wwe survivor series 2017 live

After one of the most intensive in recent memory, here we are for. Aside from the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, there isn't any gold on the line tonight. Instead, it's all about honour. Below, Digital Spy recaps all the action from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Watch the 2-hour Kick-Off Show for FREE right here: Kick-Off Match 1: Matt Hardy vs Elias A massive chorus of boos. And I have one question for everybody here tonight. Who wants to walk with Elias? They strip off and lock up. Hardy has the better of the early grapples, his vet skills being no match for the slick strummer. A Russian Legsweep leads into a big elbow and a cover as we go into the break. Matt still controlling things as we come back but some hairpulling and a hefty strike gets Elias back into this. Then he yanks The Hardy Boy's arm down onto the apron and causes some serious damage. He naturally goes on to target the limb over and over. Hardy tries and fails to stop the onslaught. It's all Elias now. A power move for another two. Something tells us would actually rather be singing right now... A second-rope elbow for another two. Elias isn't done yet though. Another strike to that damaged arm, then he flings Hardy into the ringpost shoulder first. Drift Away, and that's it. WINNER: ELIAS DS Verdict: A great little appetiser for Survivor Series. Short, sweet, and to the point. The rehabilitation of Elias into a solid mid-card annoyance is surely complete now: B Kick-Off Match 2: WWE Cruiserweight Championship: Enzo Amore c vs. Kalisto Speaking of annoyance... Enzo is still splitting crowds without Cass by his side. He rambles, rambles, rambles as Kalisto waits in the ring. We're off the 'Zo Train these days. But he comes out with a really strong flurry and Kalisto doesn't look like he was expecting it at all. Champ shows extra resilience as pulls out ALL the stops in hopes of leaving with the GOLD! Kalisto hits a Sunset Bomb and it's nearly good enough to snatch the title early on. Enzo survives and bounces Kalisto off the ropes as we hit the break. Enzo gets a two-count off the break, and now seems in control. He gets Kalisto upside down in the ropes... More forearms and then some mat-based holds from the Realest Champ. There's a reason they call him EL REY DEL AIRE! Zo uses some confusion to sneak the cover off the turnbuckle, and then slide Kalisto into the exposed metal. He takes advantage to hit a JawdonZo for the win. WINNER and STILL WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION: ENZO AMORE DS Verdict: Not as hot as the opener, but still a tidy enough exchange. Enzo's somewhat rambling pre-match promos make you forget that he can also be pretty nifty in the ring when he's trying. This is great stuff. And, hey, they have a point. KO is tagged in and has his turn with Breeze and it's most definitely not pretty. They tag back and forth and wear down Prince Pretty, before Breeze hits back with a kick. But he can't make the tag and Zayn is the one who tags KO in for a hefty Senton for two which he thinks is three. KO goes for another Senton but Breeze gets the knees up and then gets over to Fandango, while Owens tags in in Sami. Fandango is the hottest of tags, flooring KO at the ropes, then Sami in the ring before having a moment for some dancing. Fandango hits a massive DDT off the ropes, but Owens breaks up the pin. Owens and Breeze then go at it out of the ring, while Fandango fends off Owens to go the top and tries the last dance. Sami is saved by Owens who drags him out of harm's way. He tags himself in, hits a Pop-up Powerbomb and the best friends get the win. WINNER: KEVIN OWENS and SAMI ZAYN DS Verdict: Fun, fun, fun, especially the pre-match blather and KO being utter and complete trash. The whinging about Owens and Zayn being on the pre-show was unwarranted. This was the perfect spot for where they are and they did a great job in getting their newly-smarmy characters across. Expect things to ramp up in their feud with Shane O Mac and tougher opponents than the always entertaining Breezango to be next in line for the pair: B- Match 1: The Shield Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs The New Day Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston The New Day come out and Xavier warms us up. Who would've thought a few years back that The New Day would be neck-and-neck with The Shield as one of the hottest tag teams in the WWE? There's a lot of talk, but they do it so well. Big E predicts another pre-WrestleMania disintegration for the Hounds of Justice, and he may well be right. A lengthy but excellent video leaves TND hanging, but then it happens. The Shield's music hits and Ambrose and Rollins and Reigns OH MY! Five years since their Survivor Series debut. And you forget everything. Kofi and Dean Ambrose lock up to start — Dean and the boys in that half-and-half shirt. After they lock up there's a disrespectful smack in the mouth from DA to Kofi. Then it's Seth and Xavier. Rollins hits a big clothesline. Then it's Big E and THE BIG DOG. Roman Reigns getting cheers. Some big power moves between the big men, and then Reigns hits a Samoan Drop to get the first cover of the match. A flurry of tags and it's the Shield boys coming out on top with a chain of clotheslines on Big E and Kofi. All three take turns on Woods. Kingston gets tagged in eventually and starts to even things up, and he hits a massive legdrop on Ambrose, but fails to capitalise with a Trouble in Paradise attempt. DA tries a Dirty Deeds, but gets bundled into the corner for some Unicorn Stampeding from the New Day. More stampeding, till Reigns and Rollins take down Kofi and Xavier on the outside, before DA suicide dives on Xavier. Big E is alone in the ring, but he recovers to hit a MASSIVE spear on to Ambrose on the apron. Big E gets Ambrose into the ring and gets a two. He rips off the half-red Raw shirt and gets another two count. He tags in Woods who gets DA in a chokehold. DA just can't get a tag in. Xavier gets Ambrose on the ropes, but DA counters! He's too hurt to build on it, and BIg E gets tagged in. He tries to lock in a belly to belly but he too comes up short and Ambrose hits a missile dropkick! Rollins gets Woods up for a buckle bomb, and Reigns hits a forearm but it's only good for two. Reigns cocks his fist, but fails to connect, Xavier rolls him up for two. Some bouncing off the ropes, and Reigns connects with a Superman Punch - the response is now mixed from the Texas crowd, he's waiting for Woods to get up as he primes the Spear - Woods hits a kick to the face. Reigns hits a Superman Punch, but Big E hits the Belly to belly, DA and Rollins get themselves tagged in, and then DA hits Kingston with Dirty Deeds! Rollins gets the cover, then Xavier breaks it up. Poor Xavier is alone in the ring. Some quick tagging means they can set up the Triple Powerbomb, but BIg E gets Reigns to stop it happening - more pandemonium! Woods almost kicks DA's head off! He then calls out Roman and the three guys of The New Day take apart the Big Dog on the outside. DA gets deconstructed by all three members of The New Day, and then they take turns splashing him. MY GOODNESS, what an onslaught of offense by! Big E gets Rollins AND Ambrose up and Kofi and Xavier hit a double midnight hour. Reigns stops The New Day getting the win. This is awesome chants ring out. Though still the odd boo for Reigns. Three-on-three in the ring. DA hits Dirty Deeds on Big E on the Outside Woods and DA at it outside. Reigns and Kofi on the inside. Kofi goes up top, comes up short, Reigns hits the Spear! NOW the Triple Powerbomb.... OFF THE SECOND ROPE! DA gets the cover. WINNERS: THE SHIELD DEAN AMBROSE, SETH ROLLINS and ROMAN REIGNS DS Verdict: A really fun match to kick off Survivor Series proper. The sheer chemistry The Shield has in the ring is somehow enough to allow you to overcome their too-soon reunion. And The New Day have pretty much been On It since they were formed or not long after. Foxy getting in Bex's face. Lynch hits back with a kick and couple of forearms and kicks, before bouncing her off the ropes, then a legdrop for an early two. Becky tries to lock on a Dis-Arm-Her, but Fox gets to the ropes. Bex hits a Bexsploder - she doesn't realise that Bayley's tagged herself in off Fox. A cheeky rollup from Bayley and it's all over for the captain. BECKY LYNCH IS ELIMINATED BY BAYLEY! Natalya goes in against the Bayley, Nattie using those veteran skills against the Hugger. Getting Bayley in the corner, tagging in Tamina to mete out some damage, but Bayley powers through. Asuka tags herself in and kicks the bejesus out of Tamina. Foxy gets tagged in and takes over Bayley back in, and Tamina takes advantage an then it's Bayley in the corner and Nattie getting in at her. Bayley hits an elbow and then clears house in the corner. But then Carmella and Nattie have a wall of blonde against the former NXT darling. Carmella hits a superkick on Bayley but she's not legal. Tamina's the legal player - off the top rope for the splash and that's that. Things are EVEN as nails with the big SPLASH to make it 4-on-4! Nia hits a headbutt on Tamina. Tamina returns the favour. Nia powers Tamina into the corner. Rips off the Raw shirt, and powers up, She's ragdolling Tamina! But she can only get a two. She tries to get Nia up but fails. Jax gets Tamina up for a Samoan Drop - Lana distracts and pays the price - but Tamina takes advantage with TWO Superkicks. Jax still on her feet ad Naomi hits her with the ref not watching. A third Superkick on the outside. A crossbody off the steps. Tamina scrambles back into the ring for the ten count but Jax doesn't make it. NIA JAX IS ELIMINATED BY COUNTOUT Naomi tries to get a sneak rollup on Foxy but hits two. An enziguri hits but moonsault fails. Fox survives, but Naomi gets a quick pin. So quick that no-one noticed except the ref. ALISHA FOX IS ELIMINATED BY NAOMI No-one seems to believe it. Not the two women, not the announcer who doesn't even mention the elimination. The ref rolls out Foxy and in the confusion Sasha hits a Banks Statement on Naomi NAOMI IS ELIMINATED BY SASHA BANKS Asuka versus Carmella. A couple of kicks and massive hip attack for two! A couple of big slaps exchanged. Nattie hits a discus clothesline for two. Sasha hits a forearm then dropkick. She hits the knees on to the ropes and then locks in a Banks Statement on Nattie - Tamina breaks it up! She takes advantage to lock in the Sharpshooter. Tamina stops the attempted tag to Asuka, and eventually Sasha taps out. SASHA BANKS IS ELIMINATED BY NATALYA It's now Asuka versus Natalya and Tamina. Natalya gets Asuka in the corner and both Blue Women double team her with a double suplex. The crowd are with Asuka but Tamina gets a two. Tamina continues to wear down the Empress of Tomorrow. United States Champion Baron Corbin Maryse gets a kiss, and you have to think that her presence will be felt, even though she is pregnant. The Miztourage are stalking the ring too, as Baron Corbin fails to connect with a kick. Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas distract Corbin but not for long. Baron Corbin keeps trying to power through, but that knee has taken too much damage, and Miz locks in the Figure Four. Corbin uses his height to get to the ropes, but Miz takes advantage of every second the ref allows to do more damage. The Miz flies at Baron Corbin, but Corbin counters into a Deep Six! And finally he gets a breather. The Miz manages to roll BC in for a two but then Corbin powers up. FINALLY Corbin hits Curtis Axel right in the neck brace and then gets Bo Dallas with the End of Days - and it's one-on-one at last. Aaaaaaaand just met his END OF DAYS! The Miz borrows Daniel Bryan's Yes kicks, The Miz then hits a few running dropkicks. WINNER: WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPION BARON CORBIN DSVerdict: A servicable match that did what it needed to. Solid, dependable - The Miz is a genuine A-List wrestler and, with a fair wind and the chances, Baron Corbin has the potential to be not far off in a few years to come: C+ RAW 2 - 1 SMACKDOWN LIVE Match 4: Raw Tag Team Champions The Bar Sheamus and Cesaro vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos Jey and Jimmy Uso Bad guy Usos are the Very Best Usos. Their trash talk to The Bar is short, to the point and does the trick. Sheamus and Jimmy lock up to get us started. Some hard hitting of course. Jimmy with some big chops and a big right hand. A tag to Jey for a splash, and then they take turns to stomp the Irishman. Sheamus escapes to tag Cesaro who's in there with Jey, but then it's his turn to get double-teamed by the Usos. Cesaro standing tall to the beating though and hitting his own uppercuts, and getting Sheamus involved. A quick tag from the Usos, meaning that they nudge ahead. A massive uppercut from Cesaro on Jey changes things, but Jimmy flies through the ropes to counter. Sheamus hits a rolling senton on him on the outside for his troubles. Sheamus hits a big forearm off the ropes on Jimmy. Cesaro gets a strong lock on Jimmy, tags in Sheamus, and they hit a double-kick. Cesaro gets Jey back to the middle, but SOMEHOW Jey powers to the rope and Cesaro has to break the hold. Sheamus gets a sneaky kick in and Cesaro hits a clothesline, but it's still only two. Sheamus gets flipped BANG into the turbuckle. Jey goes to the top, but Sheamus catches him. Jey is on Cesaro's shoulders and he's in trouble... Cesaro gets the two but it's broken up by Jimmy. Could it be time for The to take and to the?! Jimmy gets the cover and Sheamus kicks out on two and nine tenths! Sheamus then takes control and tries to pull Jey Uso away from Jimmy's corner but Jey powers out. Cesaro saves his teammate and eats a couple of Superkicks by taking them himself. Sheamus misses with a Brogue Kick and ends up swallowing a pair of Superkicks in the middle himself. A flying Uso tags his brother and takes out Cesaro on the outside in a thrilling bit of tag team action. SPLASH from Jey on Cesaro - ONE TWO THREE WINNERS: SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE USOS JIMMY and JEY USO DS Verdict: Hard hitting from two serious teams who left it all out there. The Usos have been a revelation these past few months, and are a perfect foil for Cesaro and Sheamus, who need strong characters to work against to really show off their in-ring abilities: B RAW 2 - 2 SMACKDOWN LIVE Match 5: Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss vs. SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair Charlotte forces Alexa out the ring, twice over, Eventually Alexa gets back in and the ref has to break it up as Charlotte has her against hte ropes. Triple H stumbles to his feet And Strowman hits ANOTHER Running Powerslam, before ripping off his shirt and stomping out the ring. DS Verdict: An incredible generation-spanning array of talent, and some excellent moments - not least at the beginning when the men were sizing each other up. Shinsuke going first stung, but the intervention of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens was a perfectly acceptable and understandable wrinkle. The twisting and turning of Triple H at the end was, well, a game too far. It just left things feeling very, very odd and with too much focus on a possible future rather than the hear and now: C+ Overall DS Verdict A really tight build hid the fact that very little was actually at stake on the night. Raw has bragging rights over SmackDown, Kurt Angle will continue in his job despite Triple H's betrayal, and the pieces are slowly being set for WrestleMania 34. But the matches were all good fun, and despite the odd sloppy moment and downright bizarre finale to the main event, it all fitted together to add up to a pay-per-view that was always entertaining from the first match of the pre-show till the final credits rolled. And you can't really ask for much more than that. DS Verdict: B What did you think of WWE Survivor Series 2017? Let us know at. Want up- to-the-minute entertainment news and features?
